peeved.

and i thought today is a good start.

lugged tonnes of presents (and i thought my hands were going to break again) and head to tuition. the students just couldnt wait and i had to appease them. gave the gifts to them halfway through the 3-hour lesson. little did i know that i would be facing absurdities from such pampered kids. the kids had to draw lots among themselves. apparently the 2 boys in my class didnt like what they were given, with one wanting another's gift. i suggested an exchange but the other wont budge. so i leave at that. and before long, he showed his displeasure: ''why get such a cheap present? I thought you are going to buy psp or what...'' wtf. my entire family doesnt even has one. and the same kid who said that had like 2 of those kind of game consoles at home, and i was expected to buy one for him? who does he think he is? i almost went mad at that instant. yet i tried not to let my fury overrule my rationality. and i had to keep cool...i gave him a piece of my mind, in the nicest way i can. but i was peeved. so peeved...but he is stil a kid after all.

on hindsight, this sets me thinking. kids can get quite tactless, or rather honest in telling what they feel about things. but does tactlessness lets you get away with things? shouldnt they be taught from young, to appreciate the efforts of others? what happened to the great old adage: ''It is the thought that matters.''? it is depressing enough to term kids as pampered, cos it often carries a negative connotation. but i just cant help it. luckily, the girls in my class say they appreciate what i have done (though they requested for more stuff...). what has gotten into the minds of the younger generation? argh.

the kids at shg are so lots cuter. took daryl w. today. and jason too. 2 hyperactive kids with their weird lingos. but for some strange reasons, i enjoyed teaching the dear boys. they are so much more down to earth. whichever flavours of the chupa chups dont bother them. they are just glad to have sweets to chew on. i am liking daryl too. his innocent grin just so mesmerise me. so cute la. in fact all the kids at shg are innocent in their little ways. =)

i hope for good results for all the shg kids taking psle next week!

a gem

i should count myself lucky. cos i almost missed a gem.

was flipping thru the sunday times dated 2 weeks ago(gasps!). and i chanced upon the very 'snatch thieves' which i really took a liking to while i was at marina square on tues. and i am already falling in love with her designs badly. check this out: http://www.manda-ang.blogspot.com/
Way cool!
and yes, look at that, the killer gerbil is in as well! see how they point unanimously in one direction. how cute! ha! oh, yuexin! this aspiring graphic designer loves pandas too! =)

a good start

woke exceptionally early today.
guess i have slept too much for the past few months.
and its high time i compensate for that.

i am exceptionally high when i receive wayne's msg early in the morning.
i just miss shg so much,
and i know the day is going to be promising.

the same thing that i thought i had gotten over.
but my emotions are stirred once again.

hey there Delilah

26th Sept 07

Hey there Delilah

Ever since when you’re gone, I have been missing you. But yes, life still moves on!
With my dear friends, we went to listen to shirlyn tan’s newfound jealousy lunchbox concert yesterday. It was awesome! We were falling head over heels over the drummer! (actually its me la!) The guitarist is great too! Ya, i know I had been unfaithful and you are going to chide me for my temperaments. Now my guitar is lying on my sofa in my room. I probably should go to rehab with my guitar ay? Lol. =p

Seemingly deprived of singing (especially me!), we head for a singing session! Its been so so so long. These days, I knew I cant hang in there for an entire song. And I jolly well know that the mic amplify my weaknesses man, totally! So reckon i shall stick to sing-along sessions instead. the girls were really such great company! not to mention yas too. he's been a good sport! cool dude, like he always do. And of cos I still cant get enough of singing! Now my throat is sore. But I am still not over it yet! =)

In view of my really weak stamina, I am beginning to do sit-ups EVERY NIGHT before I sleep! And I know laughing lots help too! We should all laugh cos big girls don’t cry!

As I was writing to you, I looked out my window. The night is falling, but still i will be right here waiting for you.

Truly, madly, deeply with lots of love,

Your wannabe

the light of things

today's my last day of attachment at sasa.

and i am feeling especially good, for some strange and obvious reasons.

away with the politicking at work.

away with the rigid rules

now i can be saner.

seeing the light of things

has never been easy.

pls listen

i can lend you my listening ear. just so i am that bad at consoling people.

it gets nerving when there is pretty much nothing you can do to change a situation, yet it demands change! implementions are easier said. than done. and human relations are the trickiest of them all.

i dont understand why when one works so hard, yet has to stand the absurdities of individuals who determines what you do just so on a single event, dismissing your hard work put therein. and yes, they are the people who determine your payslips.

i might not have seen everything. but i have seen what they fail to see.

dead beat

I found myself peering over someone’s shoulder. inching to steal a few headlines in the TODAY that he was perusing. i am so out of touch from the world now. no time for news telecasts or the papers. my job is really robbing me of my time. the world is moving so fast. and i cant catch up.

i should really really try to sleep less. if only i can.

first day at work

my emotions went on a rollercoaster ride today. It’s none of what I expect.
I am overwhelmed in the greatest sense of the word.
I knew not to succumb to greed and the lure of money. Not if I know I can bear the consequences. material possessions aint a need, they are wants. It’s a bonus to have, not a necessity. If in the name of materialism that I commit any sins, I wont be able to forgive myself. because ultimately, the precious things in life are priceless.

( and Eu has to add in and say, “that includes air ya?” dah. )

happy teachers' day!

woke up from the wrong side of the bed today. as per like any sat. but today is gotta be different cos its teachers' day! although i'm still trying to be a good teacher. Stil trying.

there's a new student again today. seems like my tuition kids are capped at 6 huh. i am already getting burnt w like 4 to 5 kids. Oh well. Gotta hang in there man.

Celebrating Childrens’ Day at shg as well! I truly love the kids over there. They are innocent and generally not pampered. have to thank Siming and YangChao for helping me get the food. Thanks my best friend for getting the collages up and coming for the kids! I am quite guilty that I didn’t manage to help u that night, but luckily u get them all done. Thanks Shijun for helping in getting everything up and about. Thanks all the J1s for the games put up! whats a celebration with no fun! Thanks all the mentors for the effort in getting the personalized pressies. Last but not least, lotsa thanks to Wayne, the soul of yishun shg really, in frying the food and the coordination. It’s a success, I reckon! =)

Went to watch 881 with dad, mum, aunt b, vic and vince! The show’s bit dramatic at some parts, and really out of the world. but again, its the company that matters. anw the hokkien songs seem to be stuck in my head. Gosh. And tell u, the costumes that the papaya sisters wore are gorgeous, I say! And no, I didn’t cry despite the reviews that its touching and all. Ha.

Oh oh and also, happy 21st birthday to Farhan! i seriously hope you will find a gf soon k! hahha! Hoping!
