love & desire

24/11, sat

i bade farewell to my dreary tuition classes today. i simply just lost interest in a supposedly rewarding profession. period. but i think i will miss the kids though.

****
met xue & cui in the aftn and we head to ms clarity cafe at purvis st! with my big & foldable trusty map that is! ha! i ate black pepper crispy chicken. the portion was big enough to keep me full but very full ay! we had a great time catching up. it is a short aftn but we knew the time we had was precious and we treasured it. we promised to hunt for more makan places the next time we meet! yea! they are such down to earth babes, i will definitely missed them since all of us are either busy working or studying.

it sure is a hard time meeting my dear friends huh. not to mention my constraints as well.

****
shopped around with cui at parco mu before meeting her hubby and we headed to the arts house for the Singapore Visual Theatre Festival! as we were slightly early, we decided to chill at earshot. its a cafe housed inside the arts house and it stocks singapore works, ranging from music, literary works like fiction & poetry, films etc. i randomly picked up this book of poems by kit chan, published sometime back, called i write a page. i was rather impressed- the very first poem i read, i could connect with the words. awesome stuff.

met up with the i/c and we were led to the play den. she briefed us & yup, we were all set to be ushers! was pretty lost at first when the people came strolling in and i reckon cui's hubby could handle such stuff so well! we kinda left most of the work to him. erm. ha.

the first performance was called Only Daughter. it depicts the emotional attachment between a daughter and her mother who passed away when she was 15 years old. a puppet plays the daughter while an actress plays the mother. the mother while alive continously sought to provide a better life for her daughter.

the reverse should be true as well, isnt it? i thought so.

by the way, a harp was playing in the background throughout the performance & i say the music is really moving. how beautiful sounds the harps makes really.

****
the second performance, titled below zero, was intense and extremely captivating. the actress was so energetic and i almost thought she would break down any sooner. its hard to describe the performance since seems like everyone has their own interpretation of it. all in all, i have a great day. i felt all well & kicking since i was pretty sick of a 11-day work before that.

my legs ached after all the walking.

but i am all willing to trod the unbeaten, so far as my legs could carry me.
