the ropes of retail

there are so many stocks to clear today. and my manager & i are reshuffling, reshuffling & reshuffling. that i nearly went mad.

i am still learning the ropes of retail. its strenuous yet vibrant.

to envisage myself 2 yrs down the road, handling all what my manager is doing now, i kinda shuddered at the thought. the thing with retail is its not a boring job, yet you still need a certain kind of motivation to keep you going. with an extremely positive attitude as well.

more often that not, customers are not the troublesome lot. i think the most tricky part is stil the way one handles one's staff. besides having a high EQ, one has to be sensitive and understanding, bearing in mind the many SOPs that one has to follow in accordance to the organisation. i do think flexibility is the key, something that many organisations fail to acknowledge.
