< contd...past past week’s events >

Mar 18, sun~
Went to cdac hq at Paya Lebar for the training camp. The emphasis on treating children right was the crux of the training, I feel. After all, I hope this is the core value that we are holding on thus far, as a mentor myself.Learnt quite a fair bit of stuff today, like the change in emphasis in the English syllabus and the efforts taken to improve proficiency in the English language. And again, the importance of reading. Especially since it should be cultivated from young. This couldn’t be emphasized enough.I shall also start speaking authentic English. Away with singlish, at least with the kids.

“Children are in need of more role models than critics.”
This is so right. No one deserves to be put down, not even a child. We are still children in our every own right, simply because we are born by our parents. I don’t understand why some people cant understand this simple philosophy. That hurting words do more than hurt. They leave scars. Which probably would be etched forever in the mind no matter how optimistic the child can get. No child, in fact, no one, deserves to be condemned.
I want to be a dreamer & a pragmalist.
